Sometimes I just get sincerely surprised and flattered. This time talking about an amazing artist Kaspian Shore. When I got the first email I was taken aback by his talent and emotional work. I couldn’t help but think, why would someone want to use hours and hours painting my face but here we are. It’s been interesting to follow steps in progress on Kaspians instagram and blog. I’m exited to say, there’s more paintings to come. Thank you Kaspian!
It’s been a couple of weeks since we launched Mikko Puttonen x Gtie collection. I wanted to take you to peek behind the scenes at our shoot with cockroaches, laughter, overdose of caffeine, and not to mention the dream team.
Some of you might have been following me for longer (happy if you’re still there) and you might remember that I graduated as a photographer in Finland doing internship at the studio of talented photographer Nana Simelius. I couldn’t have been happier when Nana wanted to join into the project and we started to plan the shoot together. On the basis of my blog you might think that I’m ethereal and sensitive poem kind of boy. That’s me yes but to be honest I usually can be a bit more wild and free soul. You know what I mean if you follow me on snapchat @mikkoputtonen. However in this shoot we wanted to catch the tender side of me.
Still remember the “Surreal” series I made for Schön! Magazine with stylist Heidi Marika? We got Heidi also on the board with her assistant Sanna and the team started to get together. Susu came to make me pretty and Juhana shot film whilst the day. There were also the power girls from gTIE and Teemu helping with everything. I was in good hands and all I needed to do was to make it work with that middle part tho. I wouldn’t say I wasn’t prepared for this, talking about all those shameless selfie sessions in my twilling bedroom.. But well the result is beautiful, can I say it out loud? All the glory for the team, you rule!
I don’t usually write loads and this is starting to look like a novel. Better stop now, bye.
