Six years ago, around this time of the year, I was still at the junior high school wearing a pair of ripped jeans, Spiderman t-shirt, a thin unzipped jacket and bare ankles. And you know November in Finland is freezing. I’m turning 23 next month and I’m no longer a rebellious teenager. Six years is a long time and, luckily enough, I’ve learned something. I’ve learned that instead of wearing inappropriate winter wear, I can start thinking of pieces that look cool but are also practical. And here comes the it piece of the season, the puffer jacket.
I’ve teamed up with Selfridges to style a designer men’s coat and my pick is from Moncler. It’s a shiny, black and padded one filled with down. I can’t help but feel like a fashionable marshmallow when I’m wearing it. One thing about this piece is that you need to be careful how to style it. You don’t want to get a designer men’s coat and end up looking like you’re on your way to go ice fishing. I wore mine with slightly wide leg tuxedo trousers, red turtleneck and boots.
I already know I’ll be wearing this coat a lot this Autumn. I’m thinking of wearing it over a sophisticated suit, or going almost too street for me by styling it with my chunky trainers. And maybe also when I’m actually ice fishing with my family during the Christmas break. But that’s probably something you won’t be seeing here, for your own good.
